Meg Whitman at the Veteran's Memorial Building in Lafayette, Ca. on Feb 16, 2010

Meg Whitman, candidate for Governor of California is in the June 2010 Republican primary, appeared for a talk sponsored by the Commonwealth Club of San Francisco. The talk was held at the Veteran's Memorial Building in Lafayette. Early on, a group of about 15 nurses picketed the building. They carried signs saying "Talk to the nurses". No one talked to them but it appeared they feared cutbacks in nursing staffs.

Before the talk began, Meg spent about 30 minutes with a smaller group in a separate room. These were probably the higher ups in the Commonwealth Club hierarchy but I could not be sure. Her talk was about 70% similar to last weeks talk at Kepler's Bookstore. Although I wore my Meg T shirt once again, this crowd was too large for me to get close up enough to talk to her once the speech was finished.
