After Xian we went to Shanghai, but on the way we stopped at several attractions such as a tea farm and a water town. The tea farm was only about 100 acres but small sections are marked with the exact date that the tea leaves should be picked. The Chinese are very particular about the taste of their tea.
Shanghai is on the East China Sea. Our hotel, the Fairmont Peace Hotel, was a block from the Sea and the Bund. Shanghai is well known for the Bund. The Bund is an Anglo-Indian word that means an embankment along a muddy waterfront. The city is a study in contrasts between the 100 year old buildings put up by Europeans and the ultra modern skyscrapers that are put up every year. If I were ever to go back to China, I would like to spend more time in Shanghai.
