Two weeks before Thanksgiving, I talked my Dad and his girlfriend Ruth into making the trek from Buffalo to Fremont. We all started the holiday by eating our traditional feast at Dan and Kristin Clark's home in Fremont. The Norwood family was in attendance as usual. Katie Sikora, an old family friend, who now lives in LA, also stayed with us for Thanksgiving. Laura stayed with us only a couple of days before going back to Stanford to prepare for mid terms.
We took Dad and Ruth to Los Gatos, Valley Fair, Santana Row and Pleasanton. No pictures there. The next set of pictures are from Carmel, where Dad was disappointed that Clint Eastwood was no longer the mayor, but we did have another big feast at the Pine Inn.
We went to see Irving Berlin's White Christmas in San Francisco at the Curran. The seats were good but expensive as all get out, still it was worth it! Dad and I had a drink by ourselves before the rest of the crew showed up. Had to use two cars. On the last day, we drove up to Napa to take the Wine Train. Brunch was served in the Vista Dome car, then later we viewed the Napa wineries via an antique lounge car. The Wine Train normally stops at the Grgich Winery, but on Thanksgiving, they give the owners a break, so no stops this time. Finally, I took the 2 weary travelers to the San Francisco airport and sat around having a hot chocolate before they took off.
