Deanna and Ron got into the Beach Plaza Hotel in Long Beach, Ca. very late Friday after driving from Los Altos. Although the FIVB matches started two days earlier, Saturday morning started the semi final matches for both the men and women.
Last year Phil Dalhausser split from his long time partner Todd Rogers. For 2014, Phil is playing with Sean Rosenthal. And Todd Rogers at age 41 is playing with a very young Theo Brunner.
For the first time in the 2014 FIVB matches, the USA men and women both won the gold. Sean and Phil beat the Polish squad which had just won the gold last week at the Hauge. Walsh and Ross beat the Brazilian team. The Brazilians were not that strong in Long Beach.
