Cannes, France was not on the cruise, we added three days to the beginning of the cruise so that we could stay on land at the Hotel Martinez. The hotel had a great little beach on the Mediterranean right across the street. Cannes had a lot of beach to wander thru and plenty of restaurants. The shopping was OK but not as good as nearby Nice. We had stayed in Nice a few years ago, so decided on trying Cannes this time.
Cannes is most known for its film festival, but that was not happening the days we were there. The film festival building is right next to a boat yard full of the largest and fanciest yachts I have ever seen. On the last day in Cannes, we drove to the Regent cruise start point in Monte Carlo.
